The Ekins Trust Background
Back in 1704 Hervey and Elizabeth Ekins founded their Educational Charity, which is known today as The Ekins Trust, in memory of their daughter Gertrude. Tragically Gertrude died whilst visiting Oxford; she was only 15.
This charity continues today with the same purpose, which is to promote education amongst local young people under 25 who are in hardship.
Established in response to their loss, and their strong Christian faith. the charity exists to help those young people who regularly attend church in the Ecclesiastical Parishes of St. Peter, Weston Favell, St. Peter and St. Paul, Abington and Emmanuel, the Parish of Great Doddington and the area of the Borough of Northampton.
